One way to become aware of the signs of abuse is to have your licensor supply you with a copy of the pamphlet "Protecting the Abused and neglected Child".
Some of the symptoms could be:
-Sudden change in behavior
-Overly compliant or withdrawn
-Frightened of parents or cries when it's time to go home
-Shrinks at the approach of an adult
-has unexplained bruises, bites, broken bones, black eyes
-The child directly tells you he/she is being abused

I can become familiar with the symptoms of child abuse by getting to know the child and becoming familiar with their emotions, behavior, and personality.

I can become familiar with symptoms of child abuse by watching over the child and looking for sudden changes in behavior, any unexplained bruises, broken bones and black eyes. And just by being aware of the child's emotions and personality.

As a provider I can become familiar with the symptoms of any child abuse by becoming close the child getting to know their personality well. Also keep an eye out for any injuries that can not be explained. Also see if there is any behavior changes that will raise a red flag that the child may be abused at home.

in my care I can tell when there's a problem at home. Changes in behavior is very popular sign of a child, being suddenly quiet and not engaging well at class, very curious of his/her actions, child feel that it's always her mistakes, not physically presentable, not hygienically clean and more more symptoms. Teacher and care provider should observe well the children in their daily life in daycare.

I can become familiar with all types of child abuse by observing and paying close attention to all children under my care as well as by getting to know the children. Additionally, I can become familiar with different types of abuse by providing a safe and positive environment in which a child feels safe and supported towards disclosing personal information. As an example, as a childcare professional I should pay close attention to changes in a child’s behavior, observe a child’s injuries and its frequency, observe closely the child’s emotions and drastic personality changes and so on.

If the child is acting differently to a person who normally has their trust. If the child's behavior changes in a more aggressive or standoff way such as overly emotional. If child is showing physical signs of abuse such as bursing or marks of being harmed.

Some signs are obvious but the best way to become familiar with signs of abuse or neglect is to educate yourself through classes, seminars, clinics, and any other means of education there is.

By learning and carefully observing the child overtime. Observing any signs of physical abuse to body or noticing a sense of fear from child particularly toward family member. Importantly try to communicate with child, learn about them and their life, encourage verbal communication.
