One of the most challenging parts of working with families is when the family isn't agreeing or seeing a particular issue that my co-workers and I observe in our center. Sometimes families get limited time with their children and often aren't able to observe them in group settings which can lead to a potential issue being ignored or dismissed, which can often be challenging to navigate. The best part of working with families is when they clearly say what they want from us as caregivers and what milestones they wish to see within their child. I enjoy when families are specific about the progress of their children because it gives me something extra to work on with individual children. Seeing the progress and growth in children and seeing the celebration with families is why I love this field of work.
