Confidentiality is important because it protects information about that child and/or family from getting out to other sources. Sensitive information is recorded in the centers, such as date of birth, allergies, developmental status and observations, etc. By not maintaining confidentiality there will be serious consequences for the individual teacher and the center of care from simply mistrust to possible termination of the teacher.
