Learning environments should have the following components...
Quiet play areas where children can choose to play alone, or with just 1 or 2 other children.
Areas where they can explore and experiment, through simple science.
Areas where they are free to express themselves through art and dramatic play.
Cozy areas where they can read.
Table toys for construction and Manipulatives like puzzles to develop their fine motor skills
Areas that provide counting and number play.
Library with many choices from which to choose. (Story telling props)
Areas that provide small motor practice, pencils, markers, paint brushes, crayons, scissors, clay.
Areas that encourage large muscle use through music and dance, and our door play areas, where they can run and play.
Areas where they can play group games, or plan a puppet show, or play to encourage their sense of community.
All areas should be healthy and free from hazards, and checked and maintain weekly and more often when needed.
It represent the children in attendance.
A good learning environment follows the children's interest, and changes accordingly.
