Observations are a good way to get to know the child on a deeper level. They help you access their current needs. These can be kept in the child's file, and referred to when planning future activities, and are a record of the child's development. Videos, notes, recordings and samples of the child's work are all ways of capturing the child's behaviors, interest, and needs. They are helpful to the teacher as they learn about the child's developmental progress.
