It is necessary to have a daily routine and schedule with the children in your care. Children do not yet know how to tell time, but can predict what comes next in their day by the routine you as a caregiver goes by on a day-to-day basis. For example, a child can predict that after nap-time it will be snack time if that is how it usually goes mostly every day. Having a routine with children promotes security, self-worth, and sense of their own identity.
