After observation of the children in your care, you may want to keep track of their developmental progress in order to make sure they are reaching certain milestones. There are a few different ways to do this. The most common is an anecdotal record which is recorded at the time of specific events that is documented for your own personal inventory of where a child is at. There is a checklist which is used to check off when a child has met certain developmental milestones. Also a running record can be used to track a child's progress which is a narrative explaining events over a period of time. Lastly tallying and photos and video tapes are also tools that can be used to track children in your care's developmental milestones.
