in my toddler class I see children cry or act out by dumping toys to get the attention of a teacher.

Signs that a child shows that they need something are whining, crying, yelling, making constatnt noise, stomping feet as well as overall acting out of character to seek attention

cry, maybe get upset and scream or kick or maybe be mean to another kid.

Some things a child might do to signal they need help would be to cry, kick, throw tantrums or biting, fearful cry or scream and acting like she don't belong with his/her peers.

Children may signal that they need help by acting out.It is as if they just do not know what to do, cannot manage their behavior, and begin to act in unworkable ways.

Often times misbehavior is a cry for help. When kids are being fuzzy and non-compliant they usually need help doing something that they cannot do on their own.
