when a group of children were dancing together in a circle another child wanted to join in and hold their hands too. when the joining child tried to join the others wouldn't involve her thus making her feel sad.

What are some things, large or small, that you have seen that caused a child to feel disconnected?
a child can be disconnected when they are being picked on or feeling getting hurt, tired, hungry, bored as well as not seeing parents for long periods of time

I have seen children acting out such as throwing toys, yelling and interrupting when others are talking due to their parents fighting at home. I have seen kids start to feel disconnected are: when they feel left out, when they don't understand a situation, changes in their home life, a change in routine.

I have seen a kid feel disconnected when he got in trouble for not following instructions and doing things he wasn't supposed to. The child decided to sit alone, not eat or speak and refused to apologize or move.
