Some of the tools to use for learning about children and their development include anecdotal records or short narratives about the child’s behavior, checklists, running records, tallying events that occur throughout the day and photos or videotaping. These tools can be used to cater teaching styles to certain behaviors and keep track of who is needing special assistance in different areas. It also allows a teacher to plan accordingly for each child and their needs. Teachers need to use this information to prepare appropriate learning materials and activities for their students, make sure there are learning tools that help each and every child develop and grow at their own pace.
