1.1. When people want to make connections. ...How do they act? How do they talk? How do they listen? In what ways is this culturally embedded?
People who want to make connections are good listeners, not waiting to respond but actually taking in what the other is saying and then responding with what they said in mind. They act by making sure they have eye contact, aren't "closed" (folded arms, hunched) to the other person.

When people want to make connections they genuinely open themselves up and listen to what the other party is saying. They do not interrupt or talk over others. Cultural aspects to conversation involve the level of eye contact, volume/tone of voice, and appropriateness of topics.
