2.3. What do you need to do to follow state laws and community procedures that protect children against abuse and neglect?
Immediately after realizing the suspicion of abuse or neglect you must report the incident to CPS (child protective services). If it's an immediate danger you must contact law enforcement as well.

If we suspect we must document and report.

If we have a reasonable suspicion of abuse or neglect then we must report to CPS and if we believe there is immediate danger then we must also contact law enforcement. Documenting changes in behavior is also good to protect yourself, your center, and provide information for the correct authorities.

Contacting CPS and if there is immediate danger calling local law enforcement. Documenting signs and any abnormal physical, mental and social changes.
