Milestones are important because they help us get a generalization of if the child's development is on track for what is expected. Some milestones to observe include smiling, crawling, and talking. However, when milestones are delayed or missed these are referred to as red flags.

1. Milestones are the markers of significant stages of development. They are important because they help measure children's achievements and identify areas where the child is excelling or struggling thus allowing families and caregivers to give additional support to or challenge the child. 2. Red flags are when a child doesn't meet a milestone as expected and can be an indication of a potential problem.

Milestones are important because they are used to measure a child's achievements and needs and gives the parent accurate feedback on their child's development. -Red flags are warning signs that development might be delayed. milestones are the abilities children gain as they progress through their growth continuum and shows that they are getting more advanced! Red flags are signs that you need to discuss behavior or lack of behavior with a doctor in order to treat appropriately.
