3.2. How do children signal that they need help? Children signal that they need help by acting in an "off-track" manner. This behavior signals that they need redirection and help potential help in mediating a situation. They may act aggressively or in a defiant manner but they are not trying to be bad they are signaling that they need a more appropriate outlet for the feelings that they are experiencing.
