1.3. Why is supporting families so important? Supporting families is important because it is family that with raise the child beyond the classroom. After the student moves up through the grades the family is the one that is going to be there supporting the child. It is important to support the family at each stage so that everyone involved in raising the child, including the child, is able to have a say in the process and can voice concern if there is any. It is also important to foster a positive learning environment so that the child's attitude about learning is not sullied by negative experiences or lacking support systems.

Supporting families is essential because families ultimately shape children's behavior, beliefs, and attitudes. Conflicting lessons and instilled ideas can confuse children and potentially harm the relationship between children and their parents. Also, raising children is an extremely difficult job and so being able to rely on dependable childcare is necessary.

1.3. Why is supporting families so important?
Supporting families is important because they are the first educators that a child has and they will be with the child far after they leave our classroom. Any work that we do with the child can flourish with the correct familial support so it is very important to ensure the families have the tools necessary to support their children at home.

By supporting the family you are supporting the child because the families are the primary caregiver they notice certain behaviors or developmental patterns the caregiver might not see in the classroom. When families and caregivers communicate the child benefits, the caregiver benfits, and the families benefit.

Supporting families is so important because they are the primary educators for the child and they need to feel that the other adults that are part of the child's life will support their beliefs and support them in educating the child the way that they need to reach their ongoing developmental goals.

Supporting families is vital to a child's development! Without support and communication, families and caregivers will not be on the same page. They may be teaching different things and the caregiver may be able to use the education and experience they have to help.
