Milestones are the defining markers in the growth of a child from age infant to age 12. I believe they are very important because they allow the caregiver of the child to watch and guide accordingly and make sure the child is growing healthy and on time with the age. They warn against size or mental gain or loss.

I agree. It is important to look out for red flags so if there is a possible problem it can be addressed in a timely manner.

Milestones are markers of certain points in development and they are important because they help illustrate where a child is at in comparison to his peers and if there are any red flags. Red flags are indicators that there may be some slowing in development or a problem but don't show themselves that they are a problem.
