When people want to make connections they will be active listeners, respectful, flexible, honest, cheerful, and appreciative. They will talk warmly and kindly to the people they are trying to make a connection with, and take the time to really listen to the person. It is culturally embedded because some cultures are more outspoken and open, while others are more reserved. But all cultures will appreciate when someone wanting to make a connection takes the time to really listen and ask kind, respectful, and thoughtful questions to better understand the other person.
