Some safety standards are as follows:
Ensuring that fence rails are no more than 3.5 inches apart from each other to prevent entrapment of children in care.
Keeping chemicals stored away from the reach of children to prevent chemical burns or poisoning from ingestion of chemicals.
Making sure there are alarms, bells, or adult supervisors at all doors leading out of the child care center to prevent children leaving without an adult to ensure their safety outside the child care center (as these doors cannot be locked according to fire code).
