I would say that you should begin with a topic or theme that interests the children, then expand on those interests through various tasks that will allow them to practice their physical, social, emotional, and intellectual skills each day in a developmentally appropriate way (including indoor and outdoor play, and large group, small group, and individual activities each day). Then observe the children to ensure they are having fun and practicing important developmental skills, and make connections to other potential topics of interest to see if there is a new topic that the children would like to learn about next; this will ensure that the children are engaged and interested in the learning activities every day.
