You should provide various materials, activities, and equipment so the children can practice and develop in all areas (science, math, art, language, physical motion, social skills, emotional development, etc.). You should use your knowledge of developmental milestones to create an age/developmentally appropriate program and make allowances for children who are ahead or behind on the developmental continuum. Also, t ensure your program truly is developmentally appropriate for each individual child in your care, observe the children carefully. If they are bored challenge them more, and if they are frustrated scaffold them or give them an alternative version of the activity that is a fun and achievable challenge for them instead of a frustration.
