A safe indoor environment is clean, sanitized and organized. All of the surfaces, structures, and furniture are free of sharp edges and cracks. Chemicals are stored properly, out of reach of children, and anything heavy that could fall is placed low, rather than high where it could hurt someone. An safe outdoor environment is spacious enough for all of the children to run and play without being hurt. The play structures are not rusting or cracked, and they have railings on them. The ground is not hard cement, but some sort of soft material such as bark, grass, or gravel.
