it takes positive word choice, not over sharing if you aren't the students main teacher or referring them to their main teacher for answers. understanding their backgrounds and where they come from while discussing with parents, support and understand their feelings.

I think that showing that you are open to their lead in the communication process helps families feel comfortable to share as little or as much as they feel comfortable. There are many differences in each classroom and being sensitive to each family is important.

i think when communicateing with families it takes showing positive reinforcement and being open to the parent about there kids and understanding the parents emotions about there children

Remember that they are adults with children they don't see for the majority of their day. Keep them updated on daily activities for their child when they come to pick up every night. 5 minutes is all it takes to replay they day for a busy parent.
