The types of materials, equipment and activities provided to children in an early learning environment need to be developmentally appropriate for each age group. Accommodations need to be made for children ahead or behind in development, as well as being culturally relevant. By looking at the ages and stages of development, you can put together lesson plans that are appropriate for the developmental abilities of your group.
