Observation is how caregivers gain their knowledge of each child’s individual development. By observing a child, a caregiver can identify where the child is in his development, recognizing accomplishments as well as delays or gaps in his development. This means that observation allows a caregiver to know how to meet a child where he is at and helpful his individual needs.
