Providers can support early brain development by building and maintaining a caring, supportive, and attentive relationships with the children in their care. This relationship helps the early brain develop synapses and helps to shield the child from the damages of tolerable and toxic stress. Limiting or eliminating screen time will also help the young brain develop properly, and will leave more time to focus on practicing and learning executive functioning skills. Offering a variety of activities and experiences appropriate for each age group will help the young brain develop in a healthy and well-rounded way that ensures the child's physical, emotional, social, and intellectual health.
