1.3. The way you are required to diaper a child in licensed care different from the way parents diaper their children
Why the way you are required to change a child’s diaper in a licensed care facility is different from the way parents change their children’s diaper, because there are proper procedures and practices that must be followed in a licensed care facility, the care provider involved in changing diapers and the diaper changing area and supplies have the potential to spread germs and disease. So, diaper changing is only done in designated area, where all children can be supervision and the area is not located in food preparation areas, and all diaper changing supplies that might be a hazard should be stored in an area out of reach of children. The diaper changing table must not be used to store toys, papers or other items. And proper in room set up will reduce the contamination of the area, hands, furnishings and floors, and reduce the risk of the spread of illness, so there must be a sink within reach of the diaper changing table to immediately allow for proper hand washing.
