1. Get to childs eye level, and listen to what's wrong. 2. Limit- Redirect the child on what you think he/she needs to do. 3. Let the child "StressRelive" him/her self and then come to talk calmly about a solution.
The hardest part for me would be letting my child "stress relieve" because in the back of my head, I feel like s/he is doing themselves more harm to their emotions and their body by stressing and panicking. But I do understand the concept and reasoning behind it. And therefore it would require some patience and reminding myself how important it is to follow through with the guidance.
