Being a professional is, as I mentioned in the previous post, a matter of cultural appropriateness. For me, it includes keeping track of student information, ensuring that parents have the appropriate, timely information, and ensuring that the correct person have any required discussions with the parent(s). It also includes ensuring that all aspects of licensing are taken care of.

Being a professional to me is that you have all your ducks in a row, meaning that you have all your licenses updated and visible to all in the facility, that all staff members have all that is required of them updated and visible in their area, that everyone including yourself follow all requirements and policies, you and your staff are dressed properly, respectful, informative, kind, outgoing, willingness to help out at all times towards co-workers, kids, parents, all who visit the child care center.
