Being sensitive the every child's differences. Understanding and showing that you understand that every child is different and they learn differently. Showing respect for the child's needs and what they need help with. Being prepared to answer questions and help the family get ready for the next step.

Effectively communicating is a key factor in making the parent care provider relationship work. Communication on both sides is important. The parents need information about what and how their child is learning, and the teacher needs important feedback from the parent about the child’s academic and social development.
