Individuals all need different attention specifically for how they are personally wired. For example, when I was younger me and one of my brothers had the urge to climb and were very much go getters when it came to physical movement. We naturally were able to do more with our bodies at a young age. However, my sister didn't have the same natural physical ability so my parents had to work with her more on her walking and pulling up. This just shows that each child grows at individual, and personal rates.

What are individual differences in needs?
Each child has a unique ability or gift to share with the world. Individual needs should not only be met but they should be celebrated! As caregivers we need to "model respect for and support of each child's unique combination of genetics, culture, temperament and experiences." (SafeGard)
