Confidentiality is important for many reasons. Some children have protective orders against another parent/guardian. Some families don't want others to know about their child's business in school. If 2 kids get into an argument/fight and one hits the other leaving a mark, both children deserve to have their privacy about the situation. you never know how the parent of the child hurt will react. There was a time I was a floater. when I was in the classroom a parent came in right when another child injured them. The parent was furious and started to scold the other child. I kindly told her that I would take care of the situation, and then asked her to please not scold my students, this is what I am here for. So confidentiality can cover LOADS of situations. It's best to just keep it all to yourselves.
