Observation and Knowledge development is connected because Observation and Knowledge go together. In order to have true knowledge of something, you must first observe it. In order to truly know if the child is developmentally impaired, for example, you have to be able to observe the child.

Observation and knowledge are linked because if you lack knowledge of typical and appropriate development, you will have a hard time identifying what to observe and designing activities that facilitate an appropriate observation.
