There are many differences in individual children's needs. The needs also span to many categories. Some need more attention then others to feel happier in school. Some need different ways of communication to understand or even to calm themselves when upset. Some children feel the need to carry around something to make them feel secure at school. Where as others may not need these things. Some children learn more by using sensory where as others learn more by hearing a story or matching toys or pictures, even playing outside. There have been several times where I have heard a child respond to a question I asked by using an activity as an example. Some children need a quiet place where as others prefer to be around more children. I always talk to other teachers about how every child is different and my favorite example is the one where it talks about different animals. If the teacher asked the fish to get the apple from the tree, it would be more difficult for the fish to get the tree (or even near impossible) but the giraffe just stretches its neck and gets it. The monkey has to climb the tree and swing from branch to branch. Each child has a different way of learning and as a teacher you need to remember and learn each child so they get the best teaching experience possible.
