Milestones: A Milestone is a set of achievements each child is meant to achieve before a certain age between 2 months-3 years of age. These are extremely important because each Milestone is a check list that each parent and doctor go by to check for developmental issues that could be there.
Red Flags: Just like Milestones, Red Flags are also a huge part of development. A Red Flag is not necessarily a bad thing. It is more of an indicator that there needs to be work done in a certain are of the development.
As an example of why this is important, my son, who is almost 3, cannot talk very well. He can say words but not more than one in a sentence. The other parts are all gibberish. He has to go through speech therapy soon to help. The Milestone check list was extremely helpful because we learned early on that it was a problem and got help before it was too late. This was one of our "Red Flags."
