Children signal they need help by "being off-track". When children start to act out and not listen that is their way of showing you they need help because they can't figure it out on their own. We as adults tent to lash out on the child for not listening but breathe and communicate with the child. Time and patients is what it takes.

They go "Off Track" by showing us their pain by hitting, biting, or hiding under a table, not listening or acting out. When children tent to behave this way, it's because they are stressing about something that they are not able to understand or do on their own and we need to help them with positive response to get them back on track.
