Teaching Strategies Gold: + Written with research-based objectives (Could cause you to look for indicators that you might not think to look for without) + Report generation + Database synchronization with ChildPlus.net
- Any children's work must be scanned AND uploaded - Computer costs - Multiple places of risk for loss of data confidentiality - Cost
High Scope: + More specific data points (?) + Offline version available + Offline version allows for taking of exact notes in classroom as event occurs without need for a laptop and entering them later to prevent forgotten events.
- Requires two different systems between ages of 2 weeks and 6 years - Requires more training (? This system does not make an intuitive user experience one of their selling points and does recommend training.)
Child Skills Checklist: + COST + Ease of use + Little to no training needed + No risk of electronic compromisation of confidentially of data.
- Multiple entry of data - Inevitable outmoded of system
For me I think that it would come down to the cost of High Scope if the price of both the toddler and preschool courses was about that of the Teaching Strategists Gold then I think that it would be the best option. Mainly, having the flexibility of an online and offline OMT is that important.
