Dear lord, I can't remember. My son is 24, and I don't remember our practices. I'm SURE our practices for the occasional child transitioning to toilets is far more complex than the ones we used at home. I know for a fact that we didn't disinfect using bleach, just washed surfaces. We also didn't have a changing table and used a thick towel on the floor instead (towel was immediately washed). If I took after my son with a diaper, he'd (justifiably) have me committed :-).

I know most child care facilities have a list of procedures to follow when changing a child’s diaper, to avoid spreading germs, and most are normal procedures. Some of these procedures are, first cover diapering surface with disposable paper, remove all wet wipes from the container ahead of time, have empty plastic bags ready. Remove gloves before putting on the clean diaper, this prevents from spreading germs back to the child. In disposable of gloves, remove them by turning them inside out. During disposal of the diapers, limit handling of soiled cloth diapers. Wash and disinfect the diapering table after every use, once the table is clean, also disinfect the table with a solution of bleach and water, this is all done to avoid and or reduce contamination and reduce the risk of the spread of illness.
