When people want to make connections they show they are interested in what the other is saying, listening and using eye contact. Using respect for what the other is saying by not interrupting and not making any judgments on the conversation. Being cheerful and creative.

Hi Katie
I agree to establish good connections is to listen and be attentive, and eye contact, but using eye contact can be good, and also it can be considered rude. In some cultures, looking people in the eye is assumed to indicate honesty and straightforwardness, but in other cultures it is seen as challenging and rude. Most people in Arab cultures share eye contact and might consider regard too little as disrespectful. In English culture, a certain amount of eye contact is required, but too much makes many people uncomfortable. In South Asian cultures and many other cultures direct eye contact is generally regarded as aggressive and rude. And in some cultures, and religious groups eye contact between men and women is seen as flirtatious or threatening, in some of these cultures men not making eye contact with women is respectful.
