In my experience, this occurs often because a family wants something the provider can't give (in our case, a discount or a waiving of policy to reduce tuition costs). We've had one or two occasions when a parent doesn't want a child to play with another child for a variety of reasons, and we've explained that classes are cooperative endeavors. Frankly, if a family is not happy with Montessori methodology, we work with them to find a program they ARE happy with. There are many ways of doing things, and our way isn't right for all children and all families.

Conflicts can occur in any childcare facility due to the cost of tuition, their kids maybe being picking up bad habits from the other kids, not enough individual attention is being given to their child, the child complains that they do not like the snacks that the caregivers is passing out, the list goes on and on. But having an open communication between the caregiver, manager and parents all issues can be worked out or things can improve on both ends.
