I've seen children feeling disconnected because their parents leave, because they are tired or hungry, because they are bored with the current activity, or because they feel confused or discouraged by the rules.

I have seen emotional neglect, that caused a child to feel disconnected, emotional neglect where that person’s childhood issues weigh on them still as an adult. It drained their joy, and causes them to feel disconnected. And it was not noticed for years, while it was damaging their life. They tried seeing mental health profession, but spent years trying to figure out what was wrong with them, why they were depressed which affected them mentally, emotionally. And they were finally about to get the help they needed to figure out it was the childhood emotional neglect that they experienced when they were a child, the keep them from living a mentally healthy life, and they since have been treated and talked about it, and was healed from it.
