There are so many cultures in the world, that are combined together in one classroom. I love how they mentioned that culture isn't just food, clothing, etc. Language, Home life, these are all attributes to their culture. I like to talk to the children and their parents about their culture, learn about things that make the children feel more comfortable at school. Is there a word in their language that will help them? What is a favorite food? Once I show my interest it is amazing at how much the children will teach you about their culture as well.

Culture is much more than what we see and know on the surface of a individual. At first glance we define culture with holidays and foods, costumes and artifacts. When we look deeper into the culture of an individual we find so much more. The relationship between family members, the roles of parents and children, how people show emotion or practice their religion. Culture can be how people practice health care or the language they speak or the values they have. Culture is so much more than what we see at the first glance. Our culture is how we define ourselves.

Culture consisting of the symbolic, ideas, and aspects of human societies, culture is not the artifacts, tools, or other tangible cultural elements but how the members of the group interpret, use, and perceive them. It is the values, symbols, interpretations, and perspectives that distinguish one people from another in modernized societies, it is not material objects and other tangible aspects of human societies. People within a culture usually interpret the meaning of symbols, artifacts, and behaviors in the same or in similar ways.
