One policy that is unclear to me is the fact that we are required to have children wash their hands upon arriving at the early learning center. I get that in theory this should reduce the risk of them bringing a disease from the outside world into the center. However, they already wash their hands at so many other key times in the day. Water and soap, though important, tend to dry out skin very quickly, making problems like eczema or sensitive skin much worse and even leading to itchiness and open sores in some cases. This particular hand washing requirement seems overzealous to me.
