Using observation to understand development is essential to effective teaching. Because each child develops at a different rate, we as providers must have realistic expectations for learning, behavior and interactions. Teachers benefit from observation by getting to know each child well, building respect and appreciation for each child and their unique developmental timetables.

Knowing very well that each child develops at their own pace, as a teacher you should know each child individually in order to encourage and help them with their development. Observing your children in class not only allows you to create appropriate curriculums but helps with building relationship with your children as well as with their parents.

it helps by knowing what the child need extra help with in certain areas they might need more one on one or more social time, by observing that tell you what you need to do different.
