Its important to keep things confidential because it not only helps the family trust the caregiver but it insures that the child doesn't get made fun of, and that people don't get the whole truth of what the child is or isn't bad at. If you decide not to keep things confidential that are supposed to them that can cause a law suit with the parents of that child and the school.

It is very important to keep all personal information confidential for the sake of the child, parents, caregiver and the facility. Keeping personal information confidential keeps all that are involved safe; the child from being picked on by his/her classmates because he/she is behind on certain developmental stages, protection from family members/people who are not allowed to be around the child in the facility and/or at their home, protects the trust between the caregivers and parents and protects the facility and caregiver from law suits.
