Discussion 3.2: How do you professionally communicate information about a child's development?
To professionally communicate information about a child's development, you can have a parent/caregiver or parent/teacher conference. You always need to start a conference with a positive comment about the child. Be prepared, have a list of points that you'd want to discuss during the conference. Some of the things you should talk about is specific observations, or assessments of the child'd social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development with activities the child enjoys and particular skills they are working on or have mastered. A discussion of typical developmental ages and stages and expected behaviors. Any concerns you or the parents have, and goals to plan to concentrate on, or in the near future.
