Confidentiality respects the integrity of the caregivers observations and the parents right to control that information. If you were to handle that information inappropriately there is potential for inaccurate conversation, hurt feelings, wounded relationships etc. Parents count on you to care for their child and maintaining that relationship is paramount.

It is the caregivers responsiblity to respect the family and the child and keep this kind of information between them only. Also as the caregiver you do not have any right to pass on any information to anyone else if not given permission from the child's family.
