I find the use of timers to be quite helpful with our toddlers and preschoolers. They do well when the feelings are shifted to something that is defined and can be accountable. Typically after a short conversation I will engage them in something else while we are waiting for their turn, and congratulate them on waiting so well and working it out.

To spend time with younger children and have the patience to teach them right from wrong is very important. Losing your patience with a child and being rude or not wanting to teach them at all can not only cause them to no longer want to be in that environment, but it can also teach them that bad behavior.
