To develop respectful, reciprocal relationships with families in my practice, I would need to provide excellent care for their children. I would need to prepare them well to go into kindergarten well prepared. I would need to set up an exceptional curriculum that will continue to educate the children while the parents are not able to wile at work. The understanding of diversity will play a part in the relationships. People identify with their culture and in order to maintain a positive relationship, I will need to respect their cultures and consider them when developing a curriculum that will not exclude their culture. Understanding of myself is also very important. I would need to know that I am able to carry out my responsibilities and outsource tasks that are not priorities. I would also need to know that I am able to successfully include a curriculum and environment that caters to the diverse population in my city. I should then find areas in where I would need improvement and focus on furthering my training in those areas.
