The teachers that I remember most were the ones that displayed true passion for the subject they taught. My favorite history teacher really knew the material and taught high school history as if it were story time. One of my favorite elementary school teachers took us on a number of field trips because she wanted to show us that learning could be fun. As a teacher, I want my students to understand exactly that: learning can be fun. Students should be encouraged to ask questions, make mistakes, and try things out. Teachers should model good behavior and enthusiasm and passion for their profession. Getting children excited about learning is how you know you're an effective and inspirational teacher.
