An organized way to separate and sort toys that is still accessible and safe for the age group. Instruments and toys to support fine motor skills and muscle development. Cleanable surfaces well provided space for exploration and recovery from the inevitable wobbles ;-)

Being flexible is very important with infants and toddlers because you never know in what state they will be in and as their care giver you have to be ok with changing your plans to fit their needs.

Special environment for infants and toddlers would include making sure the toys are safe. That means they can't fit them in their mouths, no sharp edges, they are stable on the ground. Also you would want colorful toys to stimulate the imagination.

What are some of the special requirements for infants and toddlers in an early learning environment?
Some special requirements for infants and toddlers to have while in an early learning =environments is to provide clean and sanitized playing objects that are large enough to not be a choking hazard. Another way to assure that special requirements are being implemented is making sure that all playing material is organized and not all over the floor to allow a safe and open walking space for all children.
Providing various objects hard soft, many textures is great way for toddlers and infants to gain muscle developments and identify different feelings of objects which touches base with senses development.

In the case of infants and special requirements, it is important that providers are flexible and skilled enough to change planned activities according to the needs of the infant. Infants are not to be expected to stick to a planned routine. It's more of an on demand setting.

Things that are important to remember for young toddlers and infants is that they like to put EVERYTHING in their mouths. It is important to have toys that can be cleaned easily, and wont be a choking hazard. Also it is important to have multiple back up plans. Kids this age don't really follow an agenda. They may work through one activity really fast, and you will need to have a back up plan for when that happens.

There are a couple of things to keep in mind when providing a safe environment for infants and toddlers. The environment should provide cleanable, non-hazardous, and age appropriate toys. The activities should also be adaptable and should encourage the input of the children.
